Boiled Cat World Tour!

Cat around the world

Zeppie was left at home this tour . . . Or was he? If this game is any indication, he's doing his own tour somewhere out there.

Going, Going, GOne . . .

We've left Canada. Jumped off of North America. Dissapeared right across the Atlantic ocean and into the world beyond. Here are some of the places we've been. Who knows what crazy things we'll do or see by the time it's all over. Whatever happens, It should be an adventure!

A Wilhelm Scream

England

Jenna-Lee and I spent a few weeks hanging out together in her home country. She took me to see all the things she likes - the Ocean, castles, fish and chip shops, and her favorite - cemeteries. We saw a few of those. Then the guys arrived and we started the World tour for real.

France

Paris loved touring here. He even arranged for us to stay with some of his old friends. And, no one will ever believe it but, Kevin tried speaking in French. I guess he found a french band he really liked and wanted to know what they were saying. Now Paris is trying to teach him a few things. Most of it is swear words and food - but it's a start.

Jenna-Lee came over with us for two days. We stayed in this great hotel room so we could have a bit of privacy. It was awesome. Now she's gone back to England and I'm not sure when I'll see her again. Maybe when we go to Hawaii she can come and visit again. That's what Lenora's doing.

Italy

We went all over Italy. The people love their Boiled Cat here. A lot of stuff looked broken and old and the pizza was not the kind I was used to. It was still really good though.

Will was so excited to be here. I guess he's always wanted to go to Italy. He loved the markets and went on a train trip into the countryside. I didn't bother going. I jammed back in the hotel room with Kevin. He's trying to be a better songwriter. He really wants to learn to express all those crazy things in his head. We wrote a song called all the words I know in french. It was totally funny, and again featured mainly groceries and swearwords. Now he wants to pick up some Italian. Paris is teaching him all he knows. Which, again, is swear words. I think It's time we started separating those two. Kevin's dad might have been right.

Greece

Wow! What a gig. The band that was opening for us was amazing. They did this weird electronic, punk, screeching death stuff that blew my mind. And the lead singer had the most amazing vocal range. His name was Pietr. KEvin and I ended up going back to his place and jamming after the show. We stayed with him the whole time we were in Greece. His dad had a fishing boat so we went out into the ocean on it and did some snorkeling. It was so cool. The water was an amazing colour. I can't get over how great Greece was.

Statues, Festivals, more statues, gigs, and more statues. We met some really cool people along the way. Like Laz, he's this awesome bass player who plays in a Budapest punk band. Jayson connected with him at a pub he went to and brought him back to the hotel along with a few of his friends. Man we jammed s0 hard that night. THe guy was insane and so much fun. He took us sightseeing with his sister the next day. Kevin of course fell madly in love with her right away, then fell madly out of love when another girl, a tall blonde from Germany, talked to him at a cafe we hit. Maybe he wanted to hang out with them both. Not sure. At least he didn't cause an international incident. And Jayson was worried about me!

Israel was crazy. They had the weirdest combos in their market. Like bread and stockings - or maybe spare legs? Not sure on that one. Paris ranted the entire time we were there about how religion can ruin even the most beautiful place if you start pushing it to extremes. Will almost ended up with another girlfriend. The girls on the beaches were all smoking hot. Will found himself in the middle of a bunch of models. He was drooling buckets. One of them came back to his hotel room and was starting to talk him into taking her along on the tour. Paris put an end to that pretty quick. And Kevin . . . he had three girls in his hotel room. I don't even want to know what he does with three girls at one time. I went down to the beach and video chatted with Jenna-Lee. But before I called her I made sure there were no hot girls in the vicinity - only this old guy with a huge beer belly and long curly hair coming out of his ears. The perfect defence.

Japan

It turns out we really are big in Japan. We played in four different places over six days, including a festival. Japan was really cool. They have the most amazing museums. I thought Kevin was going to explode he was so excited. He's bought so much Anime and Manga that he's had to ship most of it back to Canada ahead of him. I'm learning to like sushi, I really like Ramen, and barbequed eel. Who knew that would taste good. It turns out Kevin knows quite a bit of Japanese from all the Anime he's watched over the years - so this time he was the one teaching Paris a language. And yes, it was more swear words and food. At least we can all eat and swear in many countries around the world now.

Australia

A long flight and a few gigs later, we're exhausted but totally happy. We even took some time to explore and just chill. everyone was pretty stoked about that. Though some were more enthusiastic than others when it came to the local wildlife. Jayson did not appreciate the spiders And there were quite a few of those. Kevin loved all the lizards. Paris thought the camels were great. Will was just dumbstruck by the whole thing. He loved Australia. I think this was his favorite stop. Now if he would just stop hiding plastic spiders in all of Jayson's stuff. It freaks the guy out. Jay's never quite sure if it's real or not. And he's not willing to touch it to find out. Kevin's been doing a lot of spider removal lately.

Hawaii

We played a surfing festival in Hawaii. Pretty sweet. Some of the bands that came we had met on our North American tour. Man the After parties were pretty intense. Jenna-Lee came out. Her band isn't doing so well. Lots of fighting. Things are looking grim. I guess their new Album isn't selling as well as their first two and the record company is talking about dropping them. Plus Johnny, their upright bass player, is messing up more and more, skipping rehearsals and showing up late to shows. They want him to go to rehab but he doesn't think he has a problem. I think coming out to Hawaii was just the thing Jenna-Lee needed. A break from it all. I needed it too. I was getting kind of depressed without her. I wonder if she would consider moving to Canada if her band breaks up.

Jenna-Lee wasn't the only one out here. Lenny and the baby came over from Vancouver. Jayson was ecstatic. After he put in a good two days with the three of them as a family, Kevin, Jenna-Lee, and I took the little Chloe so Lenora and Jayson could have some adult time. One thing I learned about babies - I don't want one. Not at all.

Last stop on the World tour. It was really nice here but no vacation. we worked our butts off. Will took a bunch of pictures at our shows unfortunately this girl he met on day one got all hissy about him not wanting to marry her or something and deleted them all. He should have uploaded them right away. Will always seems to have trouble with girls.

We're Heading home now. Paris is looking forward to seeing Zeppie. He's been calling him every day. I have no idea what they talk about, but I can hear the cat meowing on the other end of the phone. Paris is a strange guy sometimes.

Ask Boiled Cat

What are the plans now that your world tour is done?

Thrash: Take over the whole world. The tour was just for strategizing.
Kevin: Yeah, you would be an evil villain.
Jayson: We’re taking a break from traveling for three weeks and then we’re back on the road.
Will: North American tour
Paris: With Zeppelin!
Will: Oh no! Not that again. The cat stays home this time.
Paris: wanna bet?
Will: Jayson, come on. Tell him.
Thrash: You did survive without him on the world tour.
Paris: Barely.
Kevin: I like having Zeppie along. It was weird not having him in the dressing room.
Paris: Exactly.
Thrash: Yeah, I missed him too.
Will: Come on. What about the cat litter smell? The hairballs? The yowling at five in the morning?
Paris: What about them?
Jayson: Give it up, Will. Zeppie’s coming.
Will: Oh come on!
Jayson: But he will be staying home when we go perform at the festivals.
Kevin: Oh yeah, I forgot about those.
Thrash: How many do we have booked anyway?
Will: Ruby was busy on our world tour.
Paris: I think she schmoozed at every stop. We must have at least ten separate music festivals booked.
Jayson: Not quite.
Will: Fifteen.
Jayson: Nope
Kevin: sixteen?
Jayson: Twenty-two.
Paris: You’re kidding.
Kevin: Any days off in between?
Jayson: Not a lot considering the festivals take place in eighteen different countries.
Will: Bring on the sleep deprivation.
Thrash: Bring on the world domination!
